British Columbia, Canada

September 12-16

Our next stop was Chetwynd, B.C.,
the 'Chain Saw Sculpture Capital of the World' and
site of the international competition every year.
 The sculptures were unbelievable!

How could a chainsaw do these?????

Traveling south through British Columbia brought rain at times and lots of road construction!

We did enjoy some beautiful stops along the road!

We stopped for the night at this Provincial Park.  Ran the generator part of the  time as there was no electricity and no hookups.  Also, not many people, so nice and quiet!

The city of Wells was off the main road several miles. It took us to the Historic city of Barkerville where we spent the day.

Barkerville was named for miner Billy Barker, who struck gold on Williams Creek.  The resulting gold rush in 1862 created Barkerville.

After watching some performances about the gold rush times of that day, we went for class in this school building.

The teacher was quite strict!  Nothing like today's schools!  Checked each others heads for lice.  A real adventure!

We watched this train for miles and miles as we drove along side of it
on the opposite side of the river.

Some last scenes in Canada!
We are so grateful for all the awesome country God has given us the privilege to see!  Canada certainly has been absolutely beautiful on this trip, both directions!

We stopped for this photo in Hope, B.C. before going through the east edge of Vancouver.

WE ARE GETTING CLOSE TO THE USA!
